Sectra registers dose-tracking software with FDA

PACS firm Sectra has registered its Sectra DoseTrack dose-tracking software with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

DoseTrack enables healthcare providers to collect, store, monitor, and compare radiation dose delivered to patients from medical imaging studies. The Web-based application enables dose tracking at the modality, exam, and patient levels, and it also supports various dose profiles such as the Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) radiation exposure monitoring profile, DICOM Radiation Dose Structured Report, and other methods. The application has been in use since 2008 in Region Skåne in Sweden to track dose on a regional scale.

DoseTrack was registered as a class I software medical device.
