GE to invest $2 billion in software development

GE Healthcare plans to invest $2 billion over the next five years to develop software for healthcare systems and applications.

The investment will focus on maximizing asset performance, improving hospital operations management, improving clinical effectiveness, and optimizing care across entire populations, according to the firm.

The company said it will work closely with its Software Center of Excellence in San Ramon, CA, and various other research and development hubs around the world to develop new software.
