Brit adds to cloud image sharing services

RIS/PACS firm Brit Systems has debuted Brit Cloud Premium, which adds more services to the vendor's Brit Cloud image sharing platform.

Cloud Premium extends Cloud to support image sharing across integrated delivery networks (IDNs) and health information exchange (HIE) networks, according to the vendor.

First introduced at the 2011 RSNA meeting, Cloud includes a free 5-GB DICOM server to provide basic secure uploading, viewing, and sharing features, Brit said. Brit Cloud currently hosts more than 500 sites and the company signs on an average of 100 new sites each month, according to the firm.

Studies can be shared for viewing on a browser-based DICOM viewer, and images can also be accessed from smartphone and tablet browsers, Brit said. Cloud Premium can be run in the Brit Cloud or be hosted by an IDN or HIE.
