CMS takes comment on imaging efficiency

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is taking public comment on ways to improve efficiency in a number of imaging measures.

Comments will be taken on MRI lumbar spine for low back pain, mammography follow-up rates, and the use of contrast material for CT abdomen and thorax CT.

CMS has contracted with L&M Policy Research to organize the comments. The deadline for public feedback is December 14. The Web site for more information and to submit comments is www.imagingmeasures.com.
