MRIequip products deemed suitable for 7-tesla devices

A number of patient support devices from MRIequip have been tested for use with 7-tesla or less MRI devices and deemed suitable, the company said.

Frank Shellock, PhD, of the University of Southern California and president of Shellock R & D Services, tested the company's products using a Siemens Healthineers' Magnetom Terra 7-tesla system. The products included a stainless steel stretcher, wheelchair, and utility table, and all passed Shellock's test procedures, according to MRIequip.

Determining this equipment to be MR-conditional at 7 tesla or less allows it to be used in the same room as all current U.S. Food and Drug Administration-approved MRI scanners, the company said.
