1st patients treated with ViewRay's MRIdian system

Image-guided radiation therapy developer ViewRay announced that the first patients have been treated using the company's MRIdian Linac system at the Henry Ford Health System in Detroit.

MRIdian Linac is the world's only linear accelerator-based MRI-guided radiation therapy system cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), according to the firm; it was cleared in February. The device is based on the company's first-generation system, which has been used to treat more than 1,500 patients, ViewRay said.
