Toshiba Medical Systems, a Canon company, has installed the first Vantage Galan 3-tesla MRI scanner in the U.S.
Steinberg Diagnostic Medical Imaging in Las Vegas received the scanner. The facility has been a research partner of Toshiba's for 29 years, and it will use the MRI unit for a variety of imaging procedures, including advanced brain imaging, spine and joint diagnostics, and staging for transplantation patients.
Vantage Galan 3T is designed to increase signal-to-noise ratio by up to 20% and reduce sound during acquisition by 99% with Pianissimo Zen technology, according to Toshiba.
