Aspect Imaging lands $30M in funding

Compact MRI technology developer Aspect Imaging has added $30 million in financing from private investors to its coffers.

With the new funds, the Israeli firm has now raised a total of $150 million. The company plans to use the proceeds from this funding round to complete the development of its Embrace neonatal MRI scanner and new stroke-dedicated MRI scanner.

Expected to be launched later this year, the compact Embrace neonatal MRI system is designed to image babies in neonatal intensive care units, according to the vendor. Aspect said the stroke-dedicated MRI system will be designed for emergency room use. It's scheduled for release in 2019.
