Biotronik debuts MR-conditional defibrillator lead

Biomedical device company Biotronik has introduced Plexa ProMRI, a 7.8-French, MR-conditional tachycardia lead.

In development for nearly 10 years, Plexa ProMRI features a high-voltage wire design that enhances durability by extending the area between the distal and proximal shock coil, according to the vendor. Plexa ProMRI received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance on February 1 for use with implantable cardioverter defibrillators and heart failure devices.
