Hitachi lands new Echelon Oval MRI installations

Hitachi Medical Systems America has landed new installations of its 1.5-tesla Echelon Oval MRI scanner.

One recent installation took place at St. Joseph's Candler Hospital in Savannah, GA, while another was at Concord Hospital in Concord, NH, which installed the system at an outpatient imaging center it operates.

The installations point to the company's success at winning customers for Echelon Oval in the community hospital market, according to Hitachi. The scanner features a 74-cm oval-shaped magnet bore for improved patient comfort and reduced claustrophobia compared to conventional scanners.
