Fonar buys 3 companies

MRI vendor Fonar said that its Health Management Company of America (HMCA) MRI management subsidiary has acquired three firms in New York and Florida.

HMCA purchased Turnkey Services of New York and TK2 Equipment Management in Florida. It also bought out the remaining 50% of Yonkers Diagnostic Management Services; HMCA had previously owned half of the firm.

Turnkey Services had provided HMCA-managed MRI facilities in the Bronx and Brooklyn with ancillary diagnostic imaging equipment, Fonar said. Similarly, TK2 Equipment Management had provided ancillary diagnostic imaging equipment to an HMCA-managed facility in Queens and to an HMCA-owned facility in Fort Lauderdale, according to the company.

Fonar said it expects the acquisitions will add approximately $1 million to its annual net income.
