3D visualization firm Synaptive Medical has received clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its BrightMatter Guide surgical navigation system.
BrightMatter Guide is designed to display 3D MRI diffusion-tensor images (DTI) of the brain to aid surgeons in guiding their tools and enhancing their surgical approach.
The DTI data are set over an anatomical scan for surgeons to see the brain's internal networks. In addition, BrightMatter Guide provides continuous tracking of multiple tools during a procedure for real-time location updates within the surgical cavity.
