Kopp signs Navy for MRI detectors

The U.S. Naval Medical Logistics Command (NMLC) has selected ferromagnetic detector developer Kopp Development's FerrAlert detectors for use with Philips Healthcare's mobile MRI scanners headed to Afghanistan.

Kopp was awarded the contract on June 7 of this year. FerrAlert helps protect MRI machines from ferromagnetic projectiles, which can contribute to interrupted scan time, Kopp said.
