Philips signs Phoenix Children's Hospital

Philips Healthcare has expanded its collaboration with Phoenix Children's Hospital in Arizona by inking a new 15-year agreement valued at up to $65 million.

Building on an existing collaboration in diagnostic imaging, the long-term strategic partnership aims to jointly develop technology specifically designed to address the needs of children, according to Philips and Phoenix Children's. The hospital is the first standalone health system to sign on with Philips for a long-term strategic partnership.

Under the deal, Philips will provide the institution with CT, MRI, and angiography systems, as well as patient monitoring, clinical informatics, and a range of clinical and business consulting services. Philips North America CEO Brent Shafer said in a statement that the company will also team with Phoenix Children's to explore how to apply machine-learning technology for pediatric care.
