NeoCoil launches Android tablet for MRI suites

NeoCoil has introduced an Android tablet that is safe for patients to use in the MRI scanning environment.

The MR-conditional, fully functional Faraday tablet has radiofrequency (RF) shielding that limits electromagnetic emissions to ambient levels at both 1.5 and 3 tesla, preventing RF interference during imaging, the company said.

The use of ferrous materials has been minimized in the tablet's design, allowing it to be used safely at field strengths up to 3 tesla, NeoCoil said. The tablet has a 9.7-inch LCD screen with a 5-megapixel integrated camera, is Wi-Fi-ready, and includes a micro SD card port for additional memory.
