South Africa, Australia sign Mo-99 deal

South Africa and Australia have formed a partnership for the supply of molybdenum-99 (Mo-99).

A report in the South African newspaper the New Age noted that the radioisotopes produced at the Safari-1 reactor in South Africa and at the Open Pool Australian Lightwater (OPAL) reactor in Australia would be manufactured on a commercial scale using a low-enriched uranium process.
