International Isotopes lands field services contracts

Radioisotope manufacturer International Isotopes has received field services contracts from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

The contract work will be performed within the U.S. and in South America, and it involves performing the removal of radioactive sources from inactive radiation therapy devices and shipping these devices to secure locations for storage and disposal, according to the company. The contracts are expected to be completed during 2017 and will produce more than $1.3 million in additional revenue this year, International Isotopes said.

As a result, the firm now expects 2017 revenue in its radiological services segment will increase approximately 120% compared with 2016.
