International Isotopes posts growing loss for Q3

Radioisotope manufacturer International Isotopes posted lower revenues and a bigger net loss for the company's third quarter (end-September 30).

Third quarter revenues were $1.6 million, compared with nearly $2 million for the same period in 2014, a drop of about 19%. The company posted a net loss of $644,000, compared with $267,000 in the corresponding period of 2014.

For the nine-month period, revenues were $5.1 million, down about 11% from $5.7 million in 2014. The company's net loss was $1.3 million, slightly higher than the $1.2 million net loss posted in the corresponding nine months of 2014.

On the plus side, lower sales in the company's radioisotope business were offset slightly by the receipt of about $100,000 in consulting fees, and radiological services income grew strongly.

The company attributed the results in radiological services to increased revenue from gemstone processing and radiological field services; the latter has been facilitated primarily by use of International Isotopes' mobile hot cell unit.
