Universal Medical to sell DDD gamma cameras

Universal Medical Resources (UMRi) has signed on to handle U.S. distribution of the CorCam dedicated cardiac gamma camera from Danish nuclear medicine technology developer DDD-Diagnostic.

CorCam is a fixed 90° dual-detector camera that employs two 3/8-inch crystals with 14.6 x 8.5-inch field-of-view detectors, according to UMRi. The system features 24 high-resolution, low-profile photomultiplier tubes per detector, and includes features such as preprogrammed gantry motions with digital LED displays and nuclear cardiology clinical software, the company said.

The system can fit into a 10 x 11-ft room. UMRi said it would begin taking orders for CorCam following receipt of U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) clearance.

CorCam is the fifth imaging camera UMRi will be distributing via its partnership with DDD-Diagnostic.
