IBA Molecular starts education programs

Molecular imaging radiopharmaceutical manufacturer IBA Molecular North America has established a clinical education program for its customers in North America.

To be headed by Mary DeMaio, the company's director of clinical education, the program will build upon its educational webinars, online discussion boards, and educational Web portal PETLinQ.

IBA Molecular said that tailored programs will offer education plans for imaging center clinical staff to enhance the quality of the service they provide. Outreach initiatives will provide education for referring physicians specifically aimed at volume growth in PET referrals, where and when clinically appropriate.

The company's medical affairs staff will be available to assist multidisciplinary physician groups to better integrate evidence-based utilization of PET/CT imaging into patient treatment planning initiatives.

In other news, IBA Molecular has reintroduced F-18 sodium fluoride (NaF) for PET/CT bone imaging and has introduced a NaF-PET/CT program incorporating training, education, outreach, and administrative modules. Its best-practices framework consists of six modules encompassing design to implementation of a NaF-PET/CT service.
