Nordion has launched the Gamma Centre of Excellence in Montreal, the company said.
Formerly known as the Canadian Irradiation Centre, the new endeavor focuses on applied research and development, training, and specialty gamma processing for industrial and academic customers from across Canada and around the world, according to the firm.
The center will help develop gamma irradiation processes for clients' products and materials. In addition, it will provide a full-scale irradiator and small-scale testing systems; experts in physics, chemistry, dosimetry, calibration, and dose delivery; and training and courses for a wide range of industry professionals, Nordion said.
