Cardinal unveils research center

Cardinal Health plans to open its new Center for the Advancement of Molecular Imaging in Phoenix in July.

The campus will allow pharmaceutical companies and academic institutions to access the company's scientists, engineers, and manufacturing personnel, as well as its technology and infrastructure, to aid in developing, testing, and commercializing new radiopharmaceuticals and PET biomarkers.

The campus will house large-scale PET production capabilities and standalone laboratory space to allow Cardinal's partners to conduct confidential experiments. It will also provide access to quality and regulatory expertise necessary to earn approval of new imaging agents.

The facility will also serve as the global training facility for the company's Nuclear Pharmacy Services business.

Cardinal Health unveiled details of its venture at the annual SNM meeting, taking place this week in San Antonio.
