Radiology-TEACHES wins ABIM award

Radiology-TEACHES, an imaging appropriateness clinical decision-support education project for medical students, has earned the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) Creating Value Challenge "Teaching Value" award, which ABIM confers along with partners Costs of Care and the Leapfrog Group.

Radiology-TEACHES (Technology Enhanced Appropriateness Criteria Home for Education Simulation) is led by Dr. Marc Willis of Baylor College of Medicine. The education portal uses case vignettes from the American College of Radiology's (ACR) Radiology Case Management System that are integrated with the college's ACR Select clinical decision support to simulate the process of ordering imaging studies, according to the ACR.

Winners of this award will be recognized at the Association of American Medical Colleges' Integrating Quality meeting this June in Chicago, the ACR said.
