RLI hails Amis, Cox for radiology leadership

The American College of Radiology (ACR) Radiology Leadership Institute (RLI) has given this year's Leadership Luminary Award to Dr. E. Stephen Amis Jr. and Dr. Glendon Cox.

Amis has been a professor and chair of radiology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center in New York City since 1991. He has also helped develop the ACR Appropriateness Criteria and co-founded the Image Wisely radiation safety initiative for adults, according to the ACR.

Cox is a professor in the departments of radiology and health policy and management at the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City. His research, which has included applications of digital image archiving and communication networks in diagnostic radiology and mathematical modeling of image management networks, has significantly affected the development of PACS, according to the organization.

The award recipients will be recognized at the RLI Leadership Summit, which will take place September 8-11 in Wellesley, MA.
