ISRRT launches travel support fund

A new travel fund supported by several organizations will allow more than 20 radiologic technologists from 10 low-income countries to attend the International Society of Radiographers and Radiological Technologists (ISRRT) world congress in Toronto.

The 2012 World Congress Travel Support Fund assists medical radiation technologists and students from lower- and middle-income countries with financial support so they can attend the educational event, according to the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT), one of the organizations supporting the fund. The congress will be held in conjunction with the 70th Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) annual conference.

The program, administered by CAMRT, covers the cost of round-trip airfare from the applicant's home city to Toronto, as well as $200 for ground transportation and incidentals. The Society and College of Radiographers also helped support the fund, in addition to the ISRRT, CAMRT, and ASRT.
