Imaging Advantage debuts ED initiative

Radiology management and interpretation services firm Imaging Advantage has rolled out its Rad-ED Optimization Program.

Aiming to drive complete alignment between imaging and the emergency department, the initiative seeks to improve patient care by removing imaging as an emergency department (ED) throughput bottleneck, according to the company. The program will also leverage imaging workflow dashboards for real-time ED staffing adjustments, Imaging Advantage said.

In addition, the firm said it hopes the program will reduce potential legal liability by eliminating dependence on preliminary or "wet reads." In other goals, Imaging Advantage plans to enable 24/7/365 video conferencing of ED physicians and subspecialty radiologists, both before and after the imaging exam.

Imaging Advantage said it would roll out the program over the course of this year to its hospital system clients.
