House leaders postpone AHCA vote

Leaders in the U.S. House of Representatives on March 23 canceled a planned vote on the American Health Care Act (AHCA), which would replace the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA), also known as Obamacare, according to an article from Politico.

House Speaker Paul Ryan can afford to lose 22 votes on the floor, Politico said; the 36 members of the House Freedom Caucus have rejected concessions from the White House for the bill and promised to block it.

There is no immediate word as to when a vote will be rescheduled, according to the report.
