ACR 2015 to highlight personalized medicine

This year's American College of Radiology (ACR) annual meeting will feature a lecture by Dr. James Thrall, former chair of the ACR Board of Chancellors, on how personalized and precision medicine will affect radiology.

The address, scheduled for May 19 as the Moreton Lecture, will cover the following:

  • The progression of medical practice from intuitive medicine to evidence-based medicine to precision medicine
  • Key elements of precision medicine, including imaging technology, communication, utilization, and genomics
  • Contributions radiologists can make

Thrall currently serves as chairman emeritus of the department of radiology at Massachusetts General Hospital.

ACR 2015 will be held May 17-21 at the Marriott Wardman Park hotel in Washington, DC.
