Bracco unveils colon insufflator

Contrast developer Bracco Diagnostics has launched a new colon insufflator, ProtoCO2l Touch.

The device is used to inflate the colon with CO2 in patients who undergo CT colonography (CTC) for the detection of colon cancer to obtain optical distension of the colon. The device uses automated insufflation of CO2, which is more rapidly absorbed with less postprocedural discomfort than the alternative, room air.

ProtoCO2l Touch has a touchscreen, digital technology, and other features for procedural efficiency, Bracco said.
