Boston Scientific receives Cordis litigation verdict

Interventional device developer Boston Scientific of Natick, MA, announced that a jury in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California in San Francisco has found that the company infringes on a balloon catheter technology patent held by Cordis, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson.

No damages were determined because the judge also found that Cordis failed to submit evidence sufficient to allow a jury to make a damage assessment. Boston Scientific believes the ruling to be in error and plans to request the judge to overturn it.
