NTT Data partners with Imbio for lung analytics

NTT Data Services (formerly Dell Services) has inked a deal to add data analysis software provider Imbio's lung analytics algorithm to its Unified Clinical Archive (UCA) services.

Designed to help radiologists identify disease in both new and existing imaging studies, Imbio's algorithms provide fully automated quantification and visualization of lung structure, according to the vendors. The companies believe the algorithms are particularly useful for deriving personalized diagnoses, planning surgeries, and monitoring response to therapy.

For its part, NTT's UCA services include a universal imaging analytics product that supports machine vision and neural networks to quickly identify the extent of disease and more rapidly detect incidental findings for early detection of chronic disease, the company said.

NTT said it's beginning a project to build a broad range of machine vision and artificial intelligence tools to enable radiologists, oncologists, and cardiologists to broaden their insight on patient health with data applications that are separate from PACS, but integrated into the reporting process. The result is improved risk assessment as well as a better view of treatment options, the companies said.
