FDA clears Icometrix's image quantification software

Health technology company Icometrix has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its image quantification software, called icobrain.

The software quantifies key features of MR brain scans, allowing physicians to monitor patients' neurological disorders, the company said. It provides reports to clinicians that include population graphs and statistics that can be used to track the disease progression of individual patients, and it features technology that allows it to compare MRI exams acquired at different times, according to the firm.

Icometrix was founded in 2011. It has offices in Boston and in Leuven, Belgium.
