Qmetrics launches knee MRI research software

Contract research services provider Qmetrics Technologies has launched a new software package for knee MRI researchers who are segmenting articular cartilage and subchondral bone.

The company's Command Line Image Processing Executable (COLIPE) software enables processing of much more data than is possible through manual tracing, and with greater precision, Qmetrics said.

Features include the following:

  • Automated segmentation of knee MRI scans using anatomical atlases
  • Quantification of segmented structures, including statistical descriptors of measurement populations
  • Volume and surface area measurement
  • Thickness and curvature calculation
  • 3D surface models of segmented structures
