3DIcon offers road map for CSpace displays

3D projection display firm 3DIcon has provided shareholders with a road map for the development of its CSpace technology for creating 360° 3D volumetric high-resolution displays.

In a June 1 conference call with shareholders, the company described its plan to expand the development of CSpace using technology from its recently announced merger with Coretec Industries, a developer of silicon-based materials.

A key challenge in the development of CSpace has been the selection of material to be used in its image chamber. Thanks to the Coretec merger, the company will be able to shift from glass-based materials to silicon-based ones, which would be lighter and can be formed into large shapes.

The merger with Coretec is still in process and subject to closing conditions.
