FDA clears NeuWave's CT ablation software

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has cleared NeuWave Medical's Ablation Confirmation CT ablation software.

The software imports images from CT scanners and PACS networks for display and processing during ablation procedures, the company said. It is accessible on NeuWave's Intelligent Ablation System via a dedicated monitor with its own user interface. The software allows users to identify ablation targets, assess proper probe placement, and confirm the success of procedures.

NeuWave Medical is a privately held medical device company based in Madison, WI. Its technology was developed by physicians at the University of Wisconsin, according to the firm.
