EOS gets FDA nod for new 3D software

Orthopedic digital x-ray firm EOS Imaging has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) clearance for version 1.6 of its sterEOS 3D imaging software.

Version 1.6 features a postural assessment tool for spine pathologies and associated surgeries that is designed to help surgeons plan adequate spinal surgery to maintain or restore a patient's skeletal balance, EOS said. The company will provide the new software to existing customers as an upgrade.
