Sectra releases online platform for image analysis

PACS developer Sectra said it is launching an online service for medical image analysis.

Sectra Image Lab receives exams directly from the user's system. All examinations sent to the service are deidentified and all data communication is encrypted, according to Sectra. Users receive invoices on a monthly or quarterly basis for exams conducted, or they can purchase a subscription to the service.

Sectra's partner, computer-aided detection (CAD) firm Riverain Technologies, will offer its lung disease detection software via Sectra Image Lab, the firm said.
