U-Systems rolls out somo.v upgrade

Ultrasound developer U-Systems is highlighting upgrades to its somo.v automated breast ultrasound system (ABUS) at the RSNA meeting in Chicago this week.

The release includes a series of image quality and analysis enhancements to assist clinicians in differentiating complex breast tissue, as well as to enable fast and accurate data review, the Sunnyvale, CA-based company said.

These upgrades are intended to provide the foundation functionality for the somo-InSIGHT study, a nationwide multicenter clinical trial designed to evaluate the sensitivity of mammography and somo.v ABUS together, compared with mammography alone, the firm said.
