GE hits SonoSite with second lawsuit

Compact-ultrasound technology provider SonoSite of Bothell, WA, said that GE Healthcare filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin on May 22, seeking to invalidate SonoSite's U.S. Patent No. 5,722,412.

SonoSite said that it has performed a preliminary assessment of the case and believes GE's claim is baseless and without merit. Chalfont St. Giles, U.K.-based GE filed an earlier patent infringement suit against SonoSite on May 15, 2007.
