B-K introduces intraoperative biplane transducer

Analogic subsidiary B-K Medical has launched a simultaneous biplane surgical ultrasound transducer designed for interventional procedures, the 8814.

The device features two arrays that image in intersecting perpendicular planes, and has been designed for intraoperative scanning of the liver, pancreas, and stomach, the company said. The transducer is optimized for ultrasound-guided interventional procedures, including radiofrequency ablation, biopsies, and drainage. It also offers contrast harmonic imaging, according to the Herlev, Denmark-based vendor.
