Siemens shows Sequoia migration efforts

The ultrasound division of Siemens Medical Solutions displayed new capabilities for its Antares premium ultrasound scanner at this week's American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology meeting in Los Angeles. Now available on Antares, the firm's PH4-1 and CH6-2 transducers were originally introduced on the Mountain View, CA-based division's flagship Acuson Sequoia platform.

PH4-1 is designed to provide required penetration to image technically difficult patients, while CH6-2 confers high contrast and spatial resolution for abdominal and obstetrical imaging, according to Siemens. In other technology migration efforts, Siemens has incorporated its Tissue Equalization technology into Antares.
