ACR to accredit VA radiation oncology sites

The American College of Radiology (ACR) has received a three-year contract from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to serve as the accrediting organization for all VA hospital radiation oncology facilities in the U.S.

The 33 VA facilities will go through the ACR accreditation process over the next three years, according to the Reston, VA-based organization.

In other news, the ACR has named Ronald Freedman as assistant executive director for education, socioeconomic research, marketing, communications, and public relations. Freedman comes to the ACR after serving as senior vice president of worldwide sales and marketing for e-learning firm VCampus.
