Philips, RaySearch expand partnership

Royal Philips Electronics, the parent company of Philips Medical Systems, and Stockholm-based RaySearch Laboratories have issued a letter of intent to sign a long-term development and license agreement pertaining to new products for adaptive radiation therapy.

The companies said they already collaborate on intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) applications as well as research into adaptive radiation therapy. The license agreement means that RaySearch and Philips will enter into a new product-oriented phase of cooperation while the joint research continues, according to the firms.
