GE introduces updated enterprise archive at HIMSS

GE Healthcare of Chalfont St. Giles, U.K., has launched its Centricity Imaging Enterprise Archive 4.0 at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) annual meeting in Atlanta.

The new version of the Enterprise Archive provides for an electronic medical record (EMR) with a single point of access to DICOM and non-DICOM objects, such as JPEGs and PDFs, across a healthcare enterprise.

The capability is designed to simplify archiving of various radiologic images, reports, documents, and related information, and enables a healthcare facility to share the data across different departments and multiple vendor products.

With its ability to integrate multiple technologies through DICOM, HL-7, and IHE XDS standards, the archive is designed to facilitate information exchange and interoperability with an organization's health information exchange (HIE).

The archive is built on a Microsoft Technology Stack, includes support for VMware, and supports Patient Identifier Cross Referencing (PIX), reconciling multiple patient identifiers to present a single unified view of all available patient information. It also incorporates a Web-based DICOM viewer.
