CCHIT certifies 11 ambulatory EHR systems

The Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology (CCHIT) has certified 11 of the 17 EHR products it received for certification review in August.

The organization said its certification criteria are aimed at ensuring that products provide a broad foundation of functionality, will evolve to deliver standards-based interoperability with other systems, and include security features to protect the privacy of personal health information. To be certified, a product must comply with 100% of the more than 200 CCHIT criteria.

The firms whose products received CCHIT EHR certification are AbelSoft, AcerMed, Bond Technologies, CPSI, Eclipsys, EHS, Greenway Medical Technologies, MediNotes, MedPlexus, Netsmart Technologies, Noteworthy Medical Systems, and ProPractica.
