Delaware awards Medicity statewide HIE contract

Healthcare information technology developer Medicity said that it has been awarded a contract by the Delaware Health Information Network (DHIN) and the Delaware Health Care Commission to build a statewide healthcare information exchange (HIE).

Salt Lake City-based Medicity reported that it will team with Perot Systems of Plano, TX, to deliver specific infrastructure portions of the project to the DHIN. Perot will provide data center services, technical and provider help desks and outreach training, and onsite customer service, according to Medicity.

The firm said that Bayhealth Medical Center, Beebe Medical Center, Christiana Care Health System, and LabCorp, along with multiple physician practices throughout Delaware, will be the first entities connected to the network.
