Brit upgrades UrgentWorks

Dallas-based RIS/PACS vendor Brit Systems has introduced a new communications tool called Fire Drill for its UrgentWorks critical results reporting application.

Fire Drill auto-calls referring physicians to prompt them to verify and update their contact information, a key requirement in ensuring that critical results are delivered accurately.

It also includes a tool to schedule the auto-call and send e-mails to users informing them of when to expect the call and the questions that will be asked. It features management reports showing which phone numbers were verified or updated, indicated as being wrong, or never answered.

Brit launched Fire Drill at this week's Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) annual meeting in Minneapolis.
