DeJarnette, McKesson launch vendor-neutral archive

DeJarnette Research Systems and healthcare IT firm McKesson have rolled out a large-scale vendor-neutral archive in Quebec.

The archive supports both RUIS Montreal and RUIS McGill hospitals, covering 68% of Quebec province, according to Towson, MD-based DeJarnette. DeJarnette provided the core interface, storage, and database software synchronization technology, while Atlanta-based McKesson handled overall project management.

The archive will initially store more than 6 million imaging studies a year, growing to more than 10 million studies annually within five years, DeJarnette said. The project is part of a Canada-wide diagnostic imaging repository initiative funded by Canada Health Infoway.
