Data Distributing, QStar offer Plasmon program

Archiving distributor Data Distributing of Santa Cruz, CA, and storage management firm QStar Technologies of Mary Esther, FL, are offering a replacement and upgrade program for Plasmon's legacy optical storage users.

Data Distributing and QStar are offering two options for Plasmon customers. Users can directly replace an existing Plasmon library while maintaining, managing, or migrating the legacy data, or they can choose to acquire turnkey bundles employing standard Blu-ray storage and QStar's storage software, according to the vendors.

Plasmon ceased operations in late 2008, and its assets have been acquired by Alliance Storage Technologies of Colorado Springs, CO.
