PACS vendor Carestream Health will be releasing the latest version of its PACS network at next month's Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) 2007 meeting in Providence.
The new PACS software includes optional integrated applications such as image fusion, orthopedic surgical templating, native 3D imaging, and advanced cardiac features, according to the Rochester, NY-based vendor. Shipments are expected to begin by the end of June.
Carestream PACS also includes built-in dynamic image streaming capabilities, and a new licensing structure that allows facilities to purchase optional features according to the number of concurrent users, Carestream said.
In other SIIM news, Carestream will be taking orders for the latest version of its multimodality breast imaging workstation. Scheduled to begin shipping by the end of June, the workstation also integrates third-party computer-aided detection (CAD) from Confirma of Kirkland, WA, for breast MRI exams and B-CAD software from Cedara Software of Mississauga, Ontario, for breast ultrasound studies.
